Temp (or T-P) PA to Principal - Academic Institution, East London

Vacancy Description:

An academic institution in East London is looking for a Temp or Temp-Perm PA to provide high quality support to their Principal, starting immediately. The role of PA to the Principal is critical for the running of the office. It is a broad and varied role involving a great deal of interaction with other people. 

The PA will be required to communicate efficiently and confidently with the Principal and other key staff members within the school.  We are looking for a highly organised, diligent self-starter who possesses the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once whilst delivering tasks to a meticulous standard in accordance with confidentiality and discretion. You will contribute to the success of a renowned educational institution, creating a lasting impact on the lives of students and the wider community.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • High-level organisational PA support including diary management, arranging internal and external meetings, minute taking and ad hoc duties for other departments
  • Act as a gatekeeper and first point of contact for the Principal
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other key staff
  • Organise the collation and distribution of correspondence and documentation 
  • Maintain a manual and computerised filing system
  • Research and prepare reports on behalf of the Principal
  • Assist with the elections of parent/staff governors as required
  • Production of Academy documents, e.g. leaflets, prospectus etc.
  • Produce the agenda and minutes for Senior Leadership Team meetings
  • Support the Principal with certain personnel functions such as: recruitment, obtaining references, reviewing contracts, carrying out enhanced DBS checks

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-level PA / administrative support in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Manage and organise work of a confidential and complex nature
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion 
  • Possess tact, diplomacy and high level of commitment and flexibility
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
