People Operations Coordinator (Freelance / Part-Time) - Tech Startup, Remote

Contract Type: Freelance, up to 10 days pm for six months (strong potential to extend)

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven People Operations Coordinator to support the smooth running of a people function in a tech startup. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the team and culture thrive - helping to build an inclusive, efficient and well-supported workplace where everyone can do their best work.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is highly organised and has experience supporting people operations, HR or organisational development in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end-to-end people operations processes (onboarding, offboarding, contracts, compliance).
  • Maintain accurate people data and documentation.
  • Support recruitment administration and candidate communication.
  • Manage scheduling, systems, and communications related to people and culture initiatives.
  • Help streamline processes and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Provide general administrative support to the People & Operations team.
What we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in a People or Ops role, ideally within a start-up or other fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and remotely.
  • Familiar with people systems and tools (e.g. G Suite, Notion, Slack, HRIS platforms).
  • Aligned with inclusive, equitable, and values-driven ways of working.
