Feeling Like A Clear Yes
What I’ve learned about why some candidates stand out more than others.
Feedback makes or breaks recruitment. At Biscuit, we call it the “Trifactor Feedback Cycle” - a three-way loop connecting candidate, client, and recruiter. When each voice is heard, decisions are smarter, relationships stronger, and the process truly human.
If there’s one thing we cannot overstate, it is the crucial role of feedback during the recruitment process. At the heart of every well-managed process lies what we at Biscuit call the “Trifactor Feedback Cycle” – a three-way communication loop that balances the candidate, the client, and, last but not least, the recruiter. When this cycle breaks down, indubitably so does the integrity of the hiring process, creating a ripple effect that can lead to misalignment, missed opportunities, and unmet expectations.
When we send a candidate for an interview, preparation is key. We ensure they are thoroughly briefed and ready to perform. Equally important, however, is the post-interview feedback we gather from candidates. We value the opportunity to understand how they felt about the role, the organisation, and the interview experience as a whole. This insight allows us to gauge genuine interest, uncover any reservations, and provide thoughtful, personalised support throughout their professional journey. It then becomes part of the feedback loop: we relay this information to the client, giving them visibility into the candidate’s perspective, which informs decision-making, strengthens transparency, and enables a more collaborative hiring process. Without this feedback, organisations can struggle to make informed decisions, and our duty of care to both parties is compromised.
The third, equally critical component of our Trifactor is the client’s feedback. Unfortunately, some organisations occasionally dismiss this, much to our dismay. Beyond a simple “yes” or “no,” we rely on detailed, constructive observations: how the candidate presented themselves, answered questions, demonstrated enthusiasm, and areas for future development. This feedback empowers the candidate to grow and allows us, as the bridge between client and candidate, to refine our approach and better represent both parties moving forward.
In essence, the Trifactor Feedback Cycle is not just a structural framework; it’s the foundation of a truly effective partnership. When all three voices are heard and respected, outcomes improve, relationships strengthen, and the process becomes more human, insightful, and successful.

As Gen Z enters the workforce, employers are facing new challenges around culture, values, and expectations. How companies respond now will shape team dynamics, retention, and long-term success.
“There’s no one way to live a life.” One simple line from an International Women’s Day panel stayed with me. We spend so much time following narratives we think we’re supposed to live by. But real change begins when we take ownership of our choices and start writing our own.
