Zen Your Commute

Tuesday, 21 April 2015

Let’s face it; unless you get a seat whilst commuting (still not always the case, especially if you’re next to someone who smells badly or is spreading onto your personal space), being a commuter on public transport in London is a pain in the backside!

On mornings when I go direct from home to the office and evenings when I do the reverse, the journey is so packed with fellow commuters there’s hardly room for me to read a book or newspaper. It’s really quite stressful so I do my best not to let it get to me. Life is short and all that!

Instead of having to play mind games with myself like, guessing people’s profession or which stop they’re going to get off, I recently discovered a great way to pass my time more usefully. I love it so much that I wanted to share it with all of you!

Meditate – I love this app called Headspace, they call it a gym membership for the mind. These are great 10-minute sessions, which you can listen and practice to whilst you're on that lovely London Underground. You’ll be amazed how energised and focused you’ll be after. Check it out!

By the time I get to work, I’m ready to engage in my day and when I arrive home, it’s as if I’ve gradually released my work day and can actually enjoy my evening!
