Head of Accounts & Operations (Maternity Cover) - Talent Agency, Farringdon (Hybrid)

Vacancy Description:

Our client is a well-established London based talent agency representing leading creative talent across the UK and US. We are seeking a Head of Accounts & Operations to join the team on a maternity cover contract for 12 months (with potential to become permanent).

The agency is fast-paced and collaborative, with a supportive culture, close-knit team, and ambitious growth plans.

This hands-on role oversees both financial management and day-to-day operations, offering genuine ownership and variety. You will work closely with internal teams, agents, clients, and external partners. 

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive professional, comfortable managing both detailed finance tasks and broader operational responsibilities.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Revenue invoicing, tracking, and processing of client, staff, and supplier payments
  • Accounts payable and receivable management
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Month-end and year-end close processes
  • Preparation of P&L, balance sheet, commission reports, and financial reporting
  • Annual budgeting, forecasting, and agent projections
  • Preparation of year-end agent bonuses using agency formulas
  • Payroll administration and employee expenses
  • VAT and Corporation Tax support alongside external accountants
  • Monitoring exchange rates and handling currency conversions
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Day-to-day operational and business support
  • Liaising with accountants, banks, and suppliers
  • Processing agent expenses and expense reports

What we are looking for:

  • 3 years’ experience in a mid-to-senior finance or accounts role
  • Proven experience using Xero or similar accounting software
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Operational experience highly desirable
  • Entry-level AAT, IAB, or related bookkeeping qualification is an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative, team-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Proactive, hands-on and comfortable with ownership of a broad remit
